Amazing art can stop an audience in its tracks. Looking and feeling compelled to ask, “what is it?” and immediately “how did they make that?” and finally getting to “what does it mean?” is the ultimate test of impactful art. But there must be beauty, not just shock or a dramatic statement. It is Richard’s goal to create this in art. While he is best known for automotive art, he has created a stunning series on fur as well.
Richard integrates original pieces from race and classic cars. These pieces give a sense of history while the rest of the art provides an unusual framework. Most are made with aluminium panels which are laser cut, CNC bent and anodised. A high quality photo is then laminated, computer calculated and plodder cut to fit exactly on the panels and screwed into an acrylic gloss back panel.
He has works in the British Motor Museum, the Los Angeles Driving Museum, the Jaguar Heritage Trust museum, the Williams F1 museum, Alfa Romeo F1, McLaren F1 and Williams F1 headquarters and produced for F1 drivers.
He has exhibited at the Royal Automobile Club in London, Sotheby’s London, Salon Privé, Sleeping with Art at Hedsor House and sold at Bonham’s Aston Martin Classics auction and Argent Timeless on Savile Row in London.
