1953 Aston Martin DB2/4

History

The colour (sea green) and the registration number are original.  The current owners, and LOU’s 9th owners, purchased the car in August 1999 in a poor dismantled state.  A complete restoration was carried out by Wren Classics and was completed in March 2002.

After much use and two trips to France, LOU was lent to AML Ltd. in August 2005 for the launch of the V8 in Tuscany, Italy – the first hatchback met the latest!

The colour and the registration number for ‘LOU’ are original. Between 2005 and 2011 she completed the Scottish Malts Tour, took part in the Brooklands Double Twelve Event, toured the Isle of Man with the GRRC, returned to the Highlands, explored Belgium with the Kemmel Historic Car Club and even enjoyed a day filming for an episode of ‘Midsomer Murders’!

With the Aston Martin Club, LOU has taken part in the Windsor Weekend, where she paraded past the Queen at Windsor Castle, the Centenary Timeline in Kensington Gardens, and was part of a small group of Astons invited to Arnhem for the 70th commemorations of Operation Market Garden.  She has also entered many of the Club Concours coming first in the Feltham Class on five occasions and even coming 2nd in the Elite Class before retiring gracefully from Elite competitions as she cannot beat brand new cars!

Between 2011 and 2018 LOU has been many times to Goodwood, back to France on two occasions and to both North and South Wales as well as covering the country from Cornwall to Northumberland.  Her final trip last year was to the Warren Classic Concours where she came first in the Aston Martin Class.
