Ladies Set To Shine At Salon Privé
Set in the historic surroundings of Blenheim Palace – ancestral seat of the Duke of Marlborough and birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill – Salon Privé is the UK’s most exclusive motoring garden party. Guests can enjoy the finest hospitality alongside beautiful classic cars and supercars while soaking up stunning artworks and the very best that luxury brands have to offer.
The most glamourous day of this high-profile week will be Thursday 24 September – Salon Privé Ladies’ Day by Boodles. With events such as Royal Ascot this year taking place behind closed doors, this will offer a rare opportunity to show off stunning summer outfits matched with hats of all shapes and sizes – and even to upstage the exquisite cars taking part in the prestigious Concours d’Elégance.
As a long-term partner of Salon Privé, Boodles will be offering a spectacular pair of Be Boodles earrings to the winner of the Best Hat competition, so this is a chance to really steal the spotlight with a head-turning hat. A leading British jeweller since 1798, Boodles is renowned for its heritage, design and stunning craftsmanship, and the coveted prize is a pair of ‘Be Boodles’ drop diamond earrings in 18-carat rose gold and platinum. Mirrored pairs of diamond-set B motifs illustrate the delicate balance between sheer and opaque and delicately imitate the curving lines of the antique lace– the earrings are valued at £4,800.
Royal milliner Jess Collett, whose clients include Princess Eugenie, Pippa Middleton, The Duchess of York, Thandie Newton, Georgia Toffilo and Helena Bonham Carter to name but a few will be on hand to assist with the selection criteria. Ten finalists will be chosen throughout the day to attend the grand finale!
You can also head to the Boodles Pavilion to browse, try on, and purchase from its magnificent collection. Salon Privé is renowned for offering a unique Champagne and shopping experience to match the automotive spectacle, and the luxury brands on display cover everything from jewellery, perfume and fashion to travel, aviation and interior design.
All guests at Salon Privé are VIPs and treated to an unrivalled level of service. A sumptuous luncheon, Pommery Champagne and full English afternoon tea. An exciting addition for 2020 is the Glass House, which is exclusively located on the Duke of Marlborough’s private croquet lawn. Here, Michelin star chef Phil Howard will be presenting a bespoke five-course menu in an oasis of fine dining.
Ladies Day is always a fun, intimate and relaxing experience in breathtaking surroundings. And later in the afternoon, excitement builds as the announcement of the Concours d’Elégance Best of Show grows nearer. Enthusiasts and collectors alike will be waiting to see which car is considered special enough to follow the beautiful 1948 Talbot Lago that won this prestigious award in 2019.
But it’s not just about admiring cars from afar. Salon Privé also offers guests the chance to book a test-drive in the latest luxury models and supercars, and with some superb driving roads on offer in the countryside around the Palace, their full potential can be realised.
Director, Andrew Bagley said: “Ladies’ Day is always a highlight of Salon Privé Week, when the style, elegance and glamour moves up another level. With the addition of the Glass House fine-dining experience, this year promises to be extra-special and a great opportunity for guests to dress up and really shine in the majestic surroundings of Blenheim Palace.”
