Salon Privé Welcomes Shelby 427 Cobra
Entries from far and wide will create an international array of what is most refined and most elegant in the field of spectacular motor cars displayed on the laws on Blenheim Palace.
Yearly Salon Privé presents a rich, eclectic Show Field, this year’s Concours is set to hit new heights, with entries including the powerful 1965 Shelby 427 Competition Cobra.
1 of only 19 produced, this particular Cobra, CSX3006, is best remembered for its win of the Ilford 500 at Brands Hatch on May 8, 1966, driven by David Piper and Bob Bondurant. Graham Warner, principal of the chequered flag stated that “it was the only outright victory in an international FIA race ever achieved by an open Cobra, including the USA”.
As the Chubb Insurance Concours d’Elégance approaches, entries are for 2017 are providing a new spectacle comprising a collection of cars that are rarely put on display.
