Vincent Black Shadow

The Vincent Black Shadow

This hand-built motorcycle, The Vincent Black Shadow, is still in its original form and will be displayed at the Chubb Insurance Concours d’Elégance in the Exceptional Motorbikes class. It was registered on the 2nd April 1951 in the name of the well-known Oxford dealers, Kings Motors, who subsequently sold the machine to a Mr. Robert Stanley.

Inexplicably he did not take delivery of the machine resulting in it being sold to a Mr. Raymond Heath of Bloxham on the 4th January 1952 by Kings Motors. As his only mode of transport, Mr. Heath kept RFC 447 through his courtship, marriage, honeymoon and the birth of his children with black and white photos to testify. In 2014, it was then passed on to William Heinecke who has respected its past and left it in the same condition as purchased. This is a true piece of British motorcycling history and we are delighted to welcome it to Salon Privé this year.

Described as being in very good, original condition throughout, unrestored but kept in working condition, it still has the original buff log book, a parts list, rider’s handbook, instruction book, various cables a tyre pump, and full set of tools under the seat.
