Hats off to the 2018 Salon Privé as the winner of the Boodles Ladies’ Day Best Hat Competition is announced

Salon Privé, firmly established as one of the longest-running and most successful motoring events in the UK, saw stunning and beautiful hats of all shapes and sizes at the Boodle Ladies’ Day at Blenheim Palace on Friday 31st August.

Ladies’ Day at Salon Privé was an opportunity to dress up, stand out and shine, alongside a stunning lawn packed full of modern supercars, hypercars and classic cars. In spite of the horsepower on display, it was a uniquely tranquil experience; unhurried, relaxing, elegant and stylish.

The huge variety of hats were perfectly and thoughtfully matched to stunning summer outfits as the elegant ladies attending the 2018 Salon Privé came out for one last party before the British summer season ends.

The graceful and stylish outfits worn on the Boodle Ladies’ Day added perfectly to the fun, intimate, relaxing and unique Salon Privé atmosphere, with Lobster for luncheon, Pommery Champagne and Afternoon Tea, as well as a beautiful selection of Boodles jewellery to try on, making for the perfect Ladies’ day out. This was enhanced by soft jazz in the background, plus a variety of luxury brands to browse, creating the perfect recipe for an unforgettable day out.

Jane Taylor, Creative Director and Founder of Jane Taylor London recognised for the utmost quality, beauty and luxury in the millinery world presented and authenticated the prize.

The winner of the 2018 Boodles Ladies’ Day Best Hat at the 2018 Salon Privé winning a pair of stunning Boodles diamond-set drop earrings from the ‘Be Boodles’ Collection was Louise Green. Louise was one of 14 contestants, each of which had the opportunity to be passenger in some of the mouth-watering Concours entrants’ cars on the Final Parade at Salon Privé, with the winner parading in a beautiful 1937 Delage D8-120 with coachwork by the celebrated Parisian coachbuilder, Henri Chapron Carrossier.

Michael Wainwright, Boodles Managing Director, said, After a glorious day of sunshine at Blenheim Palace on Friday, a great time was had by all at Boodles Ladies Day. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the array of beautiful hats on Friday and despite the very tough competition, felt that Louise Green was well-deserving of Best Hat. It was a pleasure to judge alongside Jane Taylor, who really is the expert on hats’’.

For 2018 Salon Privé once again supported the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, raising money for this very worthwhile charity that provides emotional and practical support to families who have a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness.

Zillah Bingley, the Chief Executive of the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity says, Salon Privé has been generously supporting the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity since 2012. It began fundraising through a fantastic black-tie charity dinner, and now we receive support through their exclusive, boutique automotive Concours d’Elégance event. Salon Privé has raised almost a quarter of a million pounds for Rainbow Trust over the years and we are hugely grateful. Its incredibly generous and continued contribution allows us to provide families with a terminally ill child with the vital support they need, giving them the opportunity to spend time together.”
