Win a set of Boodles Diamond drop earrings in the Boodles ‘Best Hat’ Competition at Salon Privé
Boodles will be celebrating 9 years of partnership with Salon Privé on Friday 31st August this year with a fabulous new competition and a gorgeous piece of jewellery for the winner.
Boodles Ladies’ Day at Salon Privé has become a firm fixture on the social calendar. It is to cars what Ascot and Wimbledon are to horse racing and tennis respectively; a fabulous, unforgettable day out and an opportunity to dress up, sip champagne and enjoy a truly quintessentially English Garden Party in the stunning grounds of ‘Britain’s Greatest Palace’, Blenheim Palace.
This year, with the introduction of the ‘Best Hat’ competition, one lucky winner will walk away with a pair of stunning Boodles diamond-set drop earrings from the ‘Be Boodles’ Collection. Set in 18 carat rose gold and platinum, with round brilliant cut diamonds, they have a feminine and timeless appeal. On hand to select the best hat and present the prize will be Jane Taylor, Creative Director & Founder of Jane Taylor London.
Founded by Jane in 2004, Jane Taylor London is recognised for the utmost quality, beauty and luxury in the millinery world. The brand has been seen on the Royal family including the Duchess of Cambridge & Countess of Wessex. “I am delighted to have been asked to be a guest judge, looking for those ladies wearing the ‘Best Hat’ on Boodles Ladies’ Day at Salon Privé.” commented Jane. “I will be looking out for several things but really for me there are 3 key things:
1) Are they wearing there hat correctly? A hat should be worn titled over the right eye brow and never to the left. This is a traditional etiquette that goes back hundreds of years
2) Are they wearing a hat? They should be wearing a hat and not a fascinator or hair piece. This is a formal event outside so a hat or cocktail will work best.
3) Creativity? Are they wearing something that works with their outfit and pulls the look together? The hat should not only flatter the wearer but bring something to the outfit without being overpowering. The wearer should be enhanced rather than being used at a plinth for a piece or art/hat.
Boodles, Managing Director, Michael Wainwright said: Boodles Ladies’ Day at Salon Privé is always a highlight of the year for me, a lovely way to end the summer events season. I am thrilled to be judging the ‘Best Hat’ competition for 2018 and look forward to seeing the fabulous outfits. Fellow judge Jane Taylor is the expert on hat-wearing etiquette, but I will be looking out for eye-catching yet classic styles, and of course always love seeing the wonderful jewellery on show. A beautiful pair or earrings can complement a hat perfectly for a formal occasion!
